Bunco Goes Camping

The ladies from the Bunco group went camping this past weekend! We went to Scott's Flat in Nevada City. The campground we were in only had 4 other camp sites being used! We were in a virtually empty campground....it would have been a good beginning to a horror movie! 14 of us from the group went to play Bunco and have fun! We had 4 tables going at a time for Bunco. We left on Saturday afternoon to go camping and came home on Sunday. Everyone had a great time! And Bunco was really fun!

The 4 rounds of Bunco ended at 10 pm! Then it was time to sit around the campfire and make smores.Roasting marshmellows.

Ok, so at 5 am, when it was still dark, I had to go to the bathroom. I tried to put my shoes on, and I only had 1 sandal and 1 tennis shoe! So, I just wore a sandal and a tennis shoe. The next morning, we could hear everyone wondering why they only had 1 shoe outside their tents! Then they all realized that our chairs were around another fire ring in another campsite! Everyone blamed Debbie for pulling the prank. Debbie wasn't quite sure if she did it or not! Maureen noticed that the shoe prints of the prankster had a distinctive print in the dirt.......no one admitted to it, and while we were sitting around the morning fire, Mandy put her shoes up, and Maureen discovered the prankster was not Debbie but Mandy and Aleanea! Too funny!

Fishing

Chris and the girls came to Kathy's house to pick me up after camping. Mandy's kids and husband met her there, too, and the kids got to go fishing in the pond! They had a blast! Hayden caught the first 2 fishes! Then Ellie caught the next BIG fish! Rebecca caught the next fish and was able to reel it in all by herself! Olivia caught a BIG fish like Ellie. Isabella was really interested in the fish. She couldn't quite understand what it was at the end of the fishing poles! In this picture to the left, she kept staring at the fish, and then she got close enough to touch it and it started flapping all over, so Isabella backed up a little. All the fish were released back into the pond after they were caught. Then the kids found some clam shells on the ground and they wanted to open them because they thought that they had pearls in them!

Loomis Health and Safety Fair

On Friday, the kids and I went to the Loomis Health and Safety Fair. It was REALLY crowded and HOT! We had a really fun time, though! There were a lot of free activities for the kids to do. There was gymnastics, a train ride, a helicopter landing, arts and crafts, face painting, and free healthy snacks. The fire department was there and the kids were able to climb up and sit in the fire truck (although Olivia did not want to do that). PG&E was there giving kids rides in the big motorized cart that they use to fix the power lines.

Mommy, I am Not Happy With You....

Olivia had school today and she was so excited to go! She has been talking so much! She has become such a chatterbox lately! Today when I picked her up from Ms. Cheryl's house, she was in a really good mood. When I pulled the car into the garage, she said, "Mommy, I am not happy with you!" and then hid her face laughing into her blanket! I asked her why she was not happy with me and she started laughing hysterically into her blanket! She thought she was so funny to say that to me!

We had our typical busy weekend...Friday, was Scrapbooking Night! We ladies went to Chevys, where Mandy and I had a Mango Margarita, we could barely drink 1/2 of it before our lips were numb...can you tell we are both moms of 3, that don't drink much? LOL! Scrapbooking was so fun! I got a lot done and my book is coming along! I was home by 2 am. Saturday night was Chris's night out, and he went to a "Pirate Party" around the corner from our house.

On Saturday, we walked down to the Hot Chili Cool Cars in Downtown Rocklin. It was late afternoon, and although the temperature may not have been too hot, it felt like it was 150 degrees walking on the pavement (not that I am a whiner!) There was an area where the kids could do free activities. The girls made buttons, bracelets, got their faces painted, and saw some "real" dinosaurs that you could pay $5 to ride. They did not get to ride on them, but we did let them look at them. Olivia kept saying, "Those dinosaurs are scary..." To cool off we got the kids snow cones, and sat in the shade to eat them. Afterwards, we went to Jaspers Giant Hamburgers. My girls had never been there, and they thought it was neat to put money in the jukebox and have it play music! My girls and their friends were having fun lip synching to "Yackty Yack!"
Jordyn and Isabella are too funny when they get together. When I put Isabella in the stroller with Jordyn, Jordyn was fascinated by Isabella. She kept touching Isabella's arm to see if she was "real". I think she was suprised to be sitting in the stroller with someone her same size! Yesterday, after I got home from the Just Between Friends sale (where I purchased a whole fall/winter wardrobe for Rebecca for under $50! Some brand new items too, still with tags from Old Navy and Gap) I made a pot roast for dinner. I took a picture of the potatoes and carrots because the potatoes are from our garden! These potatoes Chris pulled out of the garden yesterday! They were so tasty! Rebecca would not eat them though, because they had "brown stuff" on them! My picky child won't eat a potato with the skin still on!

Girl Scouts and The Pyronauts!

We had a really busy week and weekend this past week! Last Thursday Rebecca had her first Girl Scout meeting since becoming a Brownie! She was so excited to wear her new Brownie uniform! She is looking forward to all the fun things that she will be doing this year! Don't forget that if you need some Girl Scout cookies this year...Rebecca's troop will be selling them and she would be more than happy to sell you a box, or two, or three.....
On Friday, the Pyronauts were playing at the last Cruise Night of the year, in Auburn. (That's why there is the new music on the Blog! The Pyronauts aren't on Playlist yet, so I had to go with a song they play, that's by Dick Dale...who they have played several times with!) Rebecca was so excited because she would be able to eat a hot dog and have a snow cone! The girls love to watch their Nino and The Pyronauts play. Isabella just sat in her chair at first and clapped her hands while the Pyronauts were playing. We did have a bathroom emergency during the show, because Olivia REALLY had to go, but when we went into the Porta Potty, she said, that she did not have to go anymore because it was stinky in there! Fortunately, Nino's friend, Ray, works at a restaurant in Auburn, and she was able to sneak us in to use the bathroom! I was impressed that Olivia could hold her pee as long as she did! The Pryonauts played until it was dark to a large crowd and the weather was nice! I was happy to have my "Maria's Tacos" and all 3 girls were happy to have snow cones! Isabella and I shared one, and she did not know what to think, the ice was SO cold in her mouth, but as soon as she would take one bite, she would open her mouth for another!

The next day, I got up REALLY early to meet Mandy at Starbucks. We were going yard saling in Stanford Ranch, where there were over 200 houses having yard sales! I came home with a Princess scooter, Tinkerbell costume, and a set of Junie B Jones books for Rebecca! I had to quickly get the girls ready, because they went to the Circus! It was their first time going and they loved it! Olivia was really impressed with the elephants and the tigers! Later that evening, Rebecca and I went to a suprise 60th birthday party for my aunt. Rebecca was happy because she "got to drink TWO sodas, Limbo, AND got some glow bracelets!" That was the best party she's been to (so she claims)!

Sunday, we went to Jacy's 6th Birthday party, where the girls got to play in the water! This week, I have been helping a couple of other 1st Grade moms getting stuff ready for the yearly Innnisbrook fundraiser....if anyone needs some really nice (expensive!) wrapping paper, let me know :) Rebecca had picture day today, and I am excited to see how her first grade pictures come out (now that she is missing some teeth!) Olivia and Isabella have been busy in the garden picking as many cherry tomatoes as they can! We only have a couple more weeks of good tomato weather!

My Uncle Doug brought these nesting dolls back from Poland for my girls. Olivia plays with these dolls daily! She is always talking to them, and acting things out with them! It is soo cute. She will play for hours with these dolls! Every once in a while, she will let Bellie play with one, but that's it! Today, I caught Bellie in her room with the dolls, playing on the slide with them, while Olivia was at school! It was too cute, she was trying to talk to them, like Olivia does! Thanks, Uncle Doug for the dolls!
