The Fireman Hat

This morning, there was a beautiful sunrise! The sky was so pink and purple with orange! I showed Rebecca and she really liked the blue that was peaking through the clouds! Isabella cracked me up because she put on plastic fireman's hat. She wore the hat for over an hour as she played! She would put the hat on then go play with her leap frog piano! She was so happy today with that hat on!

Pumpkin Carving!

We carved pumpkins on Wednesday night! The kids each requested a different pumpkin carving. Rebecca picked a pattern out of the book that had a bat that said "party", Olivia wanted a happy face, and Olivia did not have a request so Chris just freehanded it! This year Rebecca was really a "Pro" at pumpkin carving and taking out all the insides! Olivia on the other hand was no so sure that she wanted to put her hand in the pumpkin! Isabella stuck her hand in really quick, and just wanted to watch her sisters.

Here is everyone working hard on their pumpkins!Olivia collecting the seeds out of her pumpkin!Rebecca is punching a design into her pumpkin! Olivia was really excited with her "happy face pumpkin"! I was happy that I was able to carve a "happy face pumpkin"!
Isabella is taking a look at the carving that Chris put on her pumpkin......
and she thinks it looks too scary...... so she turns it away from her, and she's ok!

Pumpkin Farm Time!

Sunday, we went as a family to the Horten Iris Pumpkin Farm in Loomis. It was really fun! Although, it was pretty hot outside for being almost the end of October! The girls were so excited to pick out their pumpkins! The Horten Farm was a real farm. It reminded me of our Christmas Tree Farm, speaking of which, we will be selling trees in 4.5 weeks! When we first got out of our cars, Iris, the dog came to greet us! The kids all ran to the hay bales to look at the pumpkins that had already been picked. Isabella loved all the pumpkins that were her size! Then we took pictures at this wagon that was full of pumpkins. This is where Isabella found her pumpkin that she carried around the entire time we were on the farm! The kids got to feed the chickens in the chicken pen (thanks to Obee, for supplying the quarters!) Isabella thought the chickens were hilarious! She just stood at the fence pointing and laughing. Then after we looked in all the different areas for our three pumpkins, the girls and Chris and Obee took a ride around the farm on the wagon. What a fun time we had! Next year, we are going to pack our lunches so the kids can eat and play more!

Look at the smile on Bellie's face as she searches for the perfect pumpkin that's just her size!

I am sure that Mandy's picture came out a lot better than mine!
Each one of them is looking in a different direction....but at least they are all in the same picture!

When we got home, the girls sat on the swing outside, and Rebecca read a couple of books to Olivia.

Play Day and the End of The Tomatoes!

Today the kids just played inside and outside the WHOLE day! It was nice to stay home the whole day and let them run around! Chris was outside working on the fence and called me out to take this picture this morning. Rebecca had orchestrated this photo! All the girls are sitting on balls! I was suprised that Isabella was able to keep her balance on the ball! When Chris was done working on the fence, he moved to the backyard where he took out all the tomatoes! Our big tomato plants really did not produce much until the last month or so! The cherry tomatoes have been growing like crazy! And also, the cucumbers were cut out today as well! We will miss our summer garden, but are looking forward to planting our winter garden! We hopefully will get some seeds planted tomorrow! The kids love gardening and watching our garden grow. I love that they get to experience how to take care of something and watching it grow!
Olivia playing in her bookcase!
As you can see, the tomatoes overtook the garden box this year! This is only 1 cherry tomato plant and 2 big tomato plants!
Isabella enjoying her last picked cherry tomato of the year!
This is a funky cucumber that grew through the chicken wire and kept growing! It has been growing for the past 2 months throught the wire!

School Carnival

Tonight was Rebecca's School Carnival. She has been so excited about it the whole entire week! She was soooooo looking forward to this night when she could wear her Halloween costume and play carnival games! It started earlier this year, which was nice because we could go early and play some of the games before it got too crowded. Rebecca dressed up as Minnie Mouse, wearing the costume she got last year at the Disney Store. Olivia was Snow White, which is a costume that Rebecca wore when she was 2. Isabella wore a Tinkerbell costume that Rebecca wore when she was 1! Nice to know that we got some usage over the years with these Disney costumes! When we got to the carnival, we saw Rebecca's friend, Erin. So the girls did all the carnival stuff together! It was fun for Rebecca to see a lot of her classmates dressed up in their costumes! Our family had a nice night out at the school carnival!
All three girls dressed up in their costumes, ready for the carnival!
Olivia won these strawberry glasses at one of the carnival game booths. She was so excited to win these glasses that she wore them ALL night!

Kris Kristofferson- A Night to Remember

My parents took me and my brother to a Kris Kristofferson concert last night at the Crest Theater. I have only been to the Crest Theater one time before, and it is a really neat theater! It is so pretty in there! We had a big tub of popcorn and I had a soda. The concert was really cool. I had never really listened to Kristofferson's music before. He is really talented, he just plays accoustically with his guitar and his hermonicas. His songs are all really meaningful and mostly political. He had some funny comments to add, too! I have also seen Willie Nelson with my family a few years ago, and that was a really cool concert! The concert was a lot of fun, I will just interject that some people should not be drinking at public events if they can't handle their liquor....The night was a definate bonding experience for our family, and one that I will not too soon forget! I also discovered that I am the wimpy one in our family, who easily freaks out at altercations! The next time we go out for a mellow country concert, as a family, I am going to make sure that my brother is with me at all times ;)

Bellie's New Hair-Do

Isabella has been wanting me to put pony tail holders in her hair the past couple of days! It is hard to put these bands in her hair...because she doesn't have much hair yet! It is growing in all of the sudden, though! After I take Rebecca to school, Isabella finds the little pony tail holders in the drawers and brings them to me, trying to put them in her own hair! She is so excited to have her hair just like her big sisters! Today, when Isabella was eating a PB&J sandwich, I decided to take her picture, as soon as I got the camera out, she said "Cheese!" and started smiling! It was too cute! What happened to my baby?! All my kids are growing up so fast! Bellie no longer looks like a "baby!" She is changing so fast, as is Olivia and Rebecca!
Friday, my mom came over to baby-sit, while I worked in Rebecca's classroom. When I came home, my mom said that her and Olivia were working on puzzles. After Olivia completed this BIG Snow White puzzle, my mom took a picture of her beside it! Rebecca loved to do puzzles at this age, too! Then after I was done in Rebecca's classroom, I came home and I watched Mandy's girls. They were fun to watch! Ellie and Olivia did arts and crafts, we played Zingo, and the girls played outside! Ellie loves to drive the Barbie Jeep, and Olivia likes to be the passenger! Sunday, Chris worked on the fence. It has been down since the bad storms in January. Rebecca went to her friend, Erin's birthday party!
Monday, Rebecca's friend came over after school for about an hour. The girls had fun playing dress up! Even Isabella wanted to dress up! The girls were reinacting Cinderella. Rebecca was Cinderella, her friend was the Evil Step Sister, and Olivia was the Evil Step Mother! Just as a side-note, Chris and I went on our 1st date 11 years ago (on October 17th, 1997)! It was a Friday night and we went to the movies! The above picture is a sign board that we had at our wedding.
