It's Friday and The Garden!

It is Friday, and we ALL survived Rebecca's first week back at school :) Rebecca has LOVED being back at school, although she told us that she hasn't learned anything yet! She also informed me that I was packing "too much suff for me to eat in my lunch box!" I guess that's a good thing, right? Better to have too much food than to be hungry at lunch. Rebecca's in the Kangaroo class, so she was excited to learn that when she's the Star Student, she gets to bring 2 kangaroos home for the weekend. Chris asked her how she was going to fit 2 kangaroos in her room, and she said, "Daddy, they aren't real kangaroos!"

Olivia, goes to school at Ms. Cheryl's house once a week, on Tuesdays. Yesterday, Olivia put her backpack on and said, "Today I go to school like Becca!" She was sad to know that she didn't get to go yesterday, because she had already gone on Tuesday. Thankfully, she will be going 2 times a week starting in September, so she will be happy to be going more often "like Becca". Olivia, has been getting herself dressed lately in the mornings. She has a great eye for what matches (she grabs whatever is at the top of the drawers!) She is not a girl who is afraid to wear stripes, polka dots and plaids! She is so proud of herself for getting herself dressed, and if you try and tell her she has her clothes on backwards, she says, "No, I don't. I'm a big girl!" Yesterday, she had her shorts on backwards when we went to Rebecca's school.....
The week has gone by fast, and we have gotten back into the swing of our "normal" routine (however normal you can get with getting 3 kids, fed, teeth brushed, dressed, hair combed in the morning!) After we get back from school Isabella and Olivia play all morning! Olivia lately likes to play "hairstylist" with Isabella or "grocery store".

Our garden (Chris's Garden) is coming along GREAT this season! We grew corn, watermelon, honeydew, cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, carrots, and sunflowers. We got about 8 ears of corn! The watermelons were growing great and then split and the bugs got them :( We had some carrots, onions, potatoes (they were really good!), the cucumbers have been HUGE, and are producing faster than we can eat them. The honeydew are still not ready to pick, although we do have 4 of them on the vine. The kids LOVE the cherry tomatoes and are always eating them right off the vine when they are playing outside! Chris planted some pumpkins and gourds about 8 weeks ago, and we are hoping to be able to pick our own "homegrown" pumpkins for Halloween this year! So far, something has been eating the flowers off of the vines! AUGGHH! I will have to post some pictures of the pumpkins so far.
